Estimator

About This Role

As an Estimator at Benmar Electric, you'll play a critical role in winning the projects that fuel our growth. You'll analyze project plans, develop accurate cost estimates, and prepare competitive bids for government, commercial, and industrial electrical projects across Texas.

Your work directly impacts which projects we take on and how we position ourselves in the market. From border security infrastructure and solar farms to large-scale commercial developments, you'll be estimating the projects that are shaping Texas' future.

What You'll Do

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate electrical estimates
• Perform quantity takeoffs for conduit, wire, devices, fixtures, and equipment
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
• Prepare bid proposals and present estimates to leadership for review
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to refine estimates based on field conditions
• Maintain estimating databases and track historical project costs
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and bid openings

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial or industrial construction
• Proficiency in electrical estimating software (Accubid, ConEst, or similar)
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
• Experience with government/public works bidding processes preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
